LI Plow Driver Nabbed For DWI After Almost Hitting Marine Bureau Officer's Vehicle, Police Say

A Long Island man was arrested after allegedly driving his pickup truck with a plow attacked while intoxicated almost hitting a Marine Bureau vehicle.

Deyvi Castillo-Chavarria, age 30, of Oyster Bay, was arrested around 12:30 p.m., Monday, Feb. 1, following the incident in Oyster Bay, said the Nassau County Police.

According to officers, while traveling southbound on Route 106, in their unmarked vehicle, Marine Bureau officers encountered an oncoming Dodge Ram, with its plow attached, swerving into their lane of traffic, narrowing missing their vehicle, police said. 

After stopping the truck, Castillo-Chavarria was found to be operating his vehicle in an intoxicated condition, police said.

 He was arrested and charged with DWI and numerous traffic violations.

Castillo-Chavarria will be arraigned on Tuesday, Feb. 2.
